Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa last week telephoned former President of Afghanistan Hamid Karzai to inquire about the situation unfolding in Afghanistan.
Karzai served as the President of Afghanistan from 2001 to 2014 and is currently involved in negotiations with the Taliban on the formation of a new government.
“Spoke to the former President of Afghanistan to inquire about the ongoing developments unfolding in his country and reaffirmed Sri Lanka’s continued support to the people of Afghanistan,” Prime Minister Rajapaksa tweeted.
