The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has recently informed the Colombo Chief Magistrate’s Court that an investigation is currently being carried out over the alleged possession of two passports obtained
using forged documents by MP Diana Gamage, who is also allegedly a British citizen.
The CID has informed the court that the investigation into the alleged fraudulent activity has been launched after receiving a complaint to the effect that Gamage was illegally residing in the country.
IP Sugath Amarasinghe had submitted details of the probe to the Magistrate. The probe was launched following a complaint lodged by social activist Oshala Lakmal Anil Herath on 2 November 2020.
