A key coalition party of the Government, the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) had initiated the first steps in resurrecting the United People’s Freedom Alliance (UPFA) led by the party.
The UPFA had been dormant for several years and the SLFP Central Committee recently decided to revamp and reorganise the UPFA.
Accordingly, the UPFA is to formulate a new set of policies to modernise the alliance together with the alliance partners.
The UPFA leaders recently held a meeting chaired by SLFP Leader Maithripala Sirisena via Zoom.
