A key member of a gang involved in a number of crimes and robberies has been arrested in the Pundaluoya area in Kurunegala, Police Spokesman Senior DIG Ajith Rohana said today.
Police also seized a stock of stolen jewellery and other items worth over Rs. 4.5 million.
Several gold Buddha statues were also found in his possession. Police say CCTV footage showed four other people stealing from homes.
