Suspect arrested for stealing copper wires from SLFP headquarters

A person has been arrested for stealing parts with copper wires from four air conditioners installed at the SLFP headquarters. Police Media Spokesman, Senior DIG Ajith Rohana stated that a 23 year old youth residing in Colombo 10 was arrested. The suspect is a drug addict and will be produced in court today (21), the police spokesman added. Meanwhile, a person has been arrested for stealing copper wire from carriages parked at the Dematagoda railway yard. The suspect was arrested following a complaint lodged by a train manager with the Dematagoda Police, the police spokesman said. It is reported that the suspect had stolen copper wires worth nearly Rs. 300,000 connecting the electrical circuits in the carriages. The arrested suspect is a 62 year old resident of Baseline Road area and he has been remanded after being produced before the court.
