Moragahahena Police have arrested four persons for posing as officers of the Western Intelligence Division.
Residents of the area who were suspicious of the suspects have detained them and handed them over to the police.
It has been revealed that the suspects had gone to the houses of those who were producing illegal liquor and had extorted money by posing as police officers.
The suspects had gone to Welmilla and several related places in the Moragahahena Police Division, said Police Media Spokesman, Senior DIG Ajith Rohana.
The suspects are residents of Piliyandala, Mount Lavinia, Katubedda and Bandaragama areas.
