The Tamil community Members of Parliament who are currently staging a protest in front of the Presidential Secretariat are doing so to project a false impression to the United Nations Human Rights Commission (UNHRC), the President's Media Division (PMD) stated in a media release issued today (24).
The media release further mentioned that the MPs had arrived at the Presidential Secretariat without a prior appointment to meet President Gotabaya Rajapaksa, and due to appointments that had been scheduled earlier, President Rajapaksa was unable to meet the MPs.
Additionally, the statement also mentioned that despite an appointment with the Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa, the MPs had not attended the meeting with the PM.
