Term of Presidential Commission probing ETI Finance extended

The term of Presidential Commission of Inquiry (PCoI) probing alleged  irregularities of Edirisinghe Trust Investments (ETI) holdings has been extended by six months. The term was extended by a Extraordinary Gazette notification issued  by President Gotabaya Rajapaksa. Accordingly, the term of the Commission, which was set to come to an end on Thursday (April 09) has been extended until October 09, 2020. The extension has been granted for the commission to complete its tasks and to present its final report to the President. The Commission Chaired by Retired supreme court judge KT Chitrasiri comprises of retired Solicitor General Suhanda Gamlath and senior banker D.M. Gunasekera.
