Those travelling for essential services can purchase goods from Sathosa: Minister

Those who travel for essential duties will be able to purchase goods through the Sathosa outlet network which is open island wide, Minister of Trade Bandula Gunawardene said today. The Minister pointed out that those who do not have the means to travel with the restrictions will not have the opportunity to do so. The Minister further said,"We have made the Cooperative Wholesale Establishment (CWE) an essential service to assist in the delivery of these essential services. Meanwhile, relief bags are being processed within the CWE. ” Meanwhile, Trade Minister Bandula Gunawardena said that complaints have been received that the prices of essential commodities sold through mobile vehicles near residential areas are high. The Minister said that the Consumer Affairs Authority has been informed to take action in this regard. "If those traders exploit consumers, their licenses will be revoked. People have been harassed because the country has been shut down. Also, some banking services will be activated by mobile vehicles in the future," the Minister said.
