Three persons have gone missing in the Ratnapura district following a landslide caused by heavy rains.
The Disaster Management Center stated that the incident was reported this morning (04).
The landslide had occurred near the Ratnapura Elle Devalaya.
Meanwhile, the prevailing showers will continue in the southwestern part of the island, the Meteorological Department said in a statement today (04).
Accordingly, showers or thundershowers will occur in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, North Western and Central provinces and in the Galle and Matara districts.
Showers or thundershowers will occur during the evening or night in other places.
Thundershowers will occur at several places in the Western, Sabaragamuwa and North Western provinces and in some places in the Galle and Matara districts.
Heavy showers of more than 100 mm will occur at some places in the Central and Uva Provinces.
