Three suspects who were allegedly involved in the attempted attacks by 'Awa' group on several police officers at Manipay were arrested yesterday (22).
Two of the suspects arrested by Kopay Police yesterday were handed over to the Manipay Police while the other suspect surrendered to the Manipay Police last evening.
The three suspects will be produced before the Mallakam Magistrate’s Court today (23), the Manipay Police said.
The Police had opened fire on a group of youth on motorcycles on Saturday (20) after they had failed to stop at a checkpoint in Manipay, Jaffna.
