Director General Health Services Dr. Anil Jasinghe today announced that three-wheelers will be permitted to carry only two passengers.
The measure has been taken to reduce the risk of the spread of the coronavirus.
Jasinghe made these comments during a National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID -19 Outbreak (NOCPCO) media briefing this evening.
Jasinghe added that barber shops and salons will remain closed until further notice.
Food stalls located in close proximity to hospitals with low hygienic conditions, will remain closed as well.
