To lead the country in the future, every party is needed says Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) General Secretary Dayasiri Jayasekara. He made this statement during an SLFP meeting held yesterday (15). "Namal Rajapaksa recently spoke to the media and he said that if the SLFP wants they can leave, whereas he has forgotten that the Government came into power through a coalition. Lets see how they will go forward alone. They want to be in leadership as the President and Prime Minister, but for this every party in this country is needed," said Jayasekara. He further added that when Mahinda Rajapaksa became President, he made a statement claiming that he had the backing of all parties, and that Prime Minister Rajapaksa himself stated that issues never arose during his Presidency. "See how the so called future leaders of this country now talk," he added, in reference to the statement made by Minister Namal Rajapaksa. Meanwhile, Former President and SLFP leader Maithripala Sirisena said that through all circumstances, he will ensure he reaches his final goals. "People laughed at me before when I spoke about an eagle. I used the eagle as a reference to explain their characteristics and what we can learn from them. When it rains, other birds find refuge under tree branches and caves. Whereas, eagles are different. When it rains, eagles fly above the clouds and conquer their fears," said Sirisena during the meeting.
