The silver medallists from the last games, Germany, got their first win in Group D after beating Saudi Arabia 3-2 on Sunday (25).
Spain is the only other team who is unbeaten in the group stage with a 1-0 win over Australia and a goalless draw with Egypt.
In Group A, hosts Japan top the list with a win and a draw, while South Korea top Group B with a win and a loss.
Women’s soccer at Tokyo 2020
In the women’s category of the year’s Olympics in Tokyo, defending world champions, USA suffered an early setback at the hands of Sweden.
However, they managed to bounce back with a massive 6-1 win over New Zealand on Saturday (24). Sweden maintained their unbeaten run after securing their second win in Group G beating Australia by four goals to two.
Great Britain have also got off to a good start with two wins over Chile and Japan.
Netherlands scored ten goals against Zambia and drew their game against Brazil to stay on top of Group F.
