The Police said that traffic lane laws will be re-enforced in Colombo from today (8).
Passenger buses must follow the bus lanes while other vehicles must follow the respective lanes.
The Police Media Division said that following discussions held with the relevant officials and other stakeholders, the decision to enforce the lane laws from today was made.
The Police will educate motorists on lane laws from today till 22 June, and from 22 June, the lane laws will be strictly enforced.
The Police further noted that only passenger buses, office transport (over 20 seats), and school vans/buses are permitted to use the bus lanes.
