Operation of train services from the Western Province to other areas would be suspended from tonight until Sunday, the Railways Department said.
The move follows the government's decision to prevent the people from leaving the province until Sunday midnight.
The Railways Department said the trains from other areas would only be allowed to reach the Fort Railway Station or Colombo tomorrow morning.
Evening trains commencing from Colombo would not transport passengers beyond at Aluthgama, Ambepussa, Kochchikade and Awissawella Stations.
"However, passengers can board the train from the next railways station outside of the province and reach the destination,” the department said.
It said all regional train services would also be operated as per the schedule.
