A light training aircraft of a private company has made an emergency landing on the beach at Payagala, says the Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF).
A rescue team from the Air Force has been dispatched to the scene. No casualties have been reported.
The aircraft is a Piper Tomahawk bearing registration number 4R-ASJ, owned by the Sakurai Aviation Company.
It is reported that the aircraft landed due to technical issues in the engine.
