Minister of State Dilum Amunugama says that transport facilities will be provided to those who have left for rural areas for the New Year.
The Minister of State also stated that the transport service will be operational from the 15th of this month.
Dilum Amunugama said that an additional 3,000 buses have been added so far and that the buses leaving Colombo for rural areas will return to Colombo from April 15.
However, there is a possibility of a shortage of buses on April 14, the state minister said.
Meanwhile, 21 additional trains and 58 additional trains will be operational from April 9, the Railway Department said.
