Minister of State for Transport, Dilum Amunugama, stated that a Transport Policy for COVID-19 will be released tomorrow (10) on the transportation operations during the current epidemic and several proposals have been made regarding fares.
According to the Transport Policy prepared by the Ministry of Transport, bus and train passenger fares will be increased from 20% to 50%. It is proposed to increase fares by 20% if the number of seats is limited to passengers and by 50% if passengers are being transported as a non-seat.
