Travel restrictions will be lifted on 21 June: Army Commander

The ongoing travel restrictions will be lifted at 4 am on 21 June as planned earlier, Army Commander and Head of the National Operations Centre for Prevention of Covid Outbreak (NOCPCO) General Shavendra Silva stated today (18). Accordingly, travel restrictions will once again be imposed at 10 pm on 23 June and will continue till 4 am on 25 June.
The restrictions on travel between provinces will remain in effect during the period when travel restrictions are eased. Meanwhile public gatherings, meetings and any events will also be prohibited during that period. The Army Commander said that shops will be allowed to open under strict health guidelines.
