Travelling across districts would be suspended except for goods distribution and carrying out of essential services, the President's Media Division said.
It said the decision was taken at a meeting of the Presidential Task Force on Prevention of COVID-19 which was held at the Presidential Secretariat today.
At the meeting, President Gotabaya Rajapaksa has instructed not to issue new curfew passes.
President has said the PCR tests on those undergoing self-quarantine should be done on the 10th day.
"If the results come out negative, they should be allowed to end the quarantine spell after two weeks," he said.
