The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) had yesterday (16) informed the Colombo Magistrate’s Court that the 2015 Central Bank Treasury Bond Scam is being investigated under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act as well.
The seven defendants in the case, including Perpetual Treasuries Ltd. (PTL) Owner Arjun Aloysius, had appeared before the court yesterday when the case was taken up before Colombo Chief Magistrate Lanka Jayaratne.
CID officials have informed the court that investigations are still underway on the matter and that the case was also being investigated under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act.
Accordingly, the Magistrate has fixed the next court date to 12 November and ordered the CID to submit a progress report on the investigation.
