Twenty four suspects in CID custody

The Police have stated that 24 suspects have been arrested so far in connection with the Easter Sunday attacks in the country yesterday. Police Spokesman SP Ruwan Gunasekara has told the media that the suspects are in the custody of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) and that they are being interrogated. Authorities launched a massive security operation yesterday and imposed a police curfew following eight bomb explosions in different locations in the country, which included churches and five star hotels. The attacks killed over 250 persons and left over 450 injured. The police curfew was lifted at 6 a.m. today.
