Two persons were arrested yesterday by Udamaluwa police station in Anuradhapura, while stealing Ata Pirikara offered by pilgrims to Ruwanweliseya, stated Police Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana.
One of them was disguised as a monk at the time of arrest, police spokesman said.
They have reportedly stolen four Ata Pirikara packages from Ruwanweliseya premises, worth approximately Rs 10,000/-.
They were handed over to Anuradhapura police for further investigations.
