Two persons have been arrested in the Akmeemana area in Galle for smuggling four pearls with the intention of selling them, the Rathgama Police said today.
The two suspects who were traveling on a motorcycle have been arrested by the Rathgama Police Special Task Force.
The value of the seized pearls is estimated to be around Rs. 25 million.
It is reported that the arrested suspects are aged 40 and 42 and have been handed over to the Hikkaduwa Police for further investigations.
