Two individuals have been arrested over spreading false news, according to Police Spokesperson DIG Ajith Rohana.
The two individuals have spread false news on social media about the country's coronavirus status, DIG Rohana told a press conference today.
He added that the police was surveilling 40 more persons who are engaged in such activities.
Meanwhile, legal action has been taken on a patient and his wife for trying to conceal the virus.
The individual had travelled to Germany and returned to Sri Lanka with another man who had later tested positive for the virus.
