Two more importers informed to re-export contaminated coconut oil

Sri Lanka Customs stated today (18) that 2 remaining importers have been notified to re-export their contaminated coconut oil stocks. The importers are Ali Brothers and Edirisinghe Edible Oil Company. Ali Brothers had imported a total of 1513.7 metric tonnes of contaminated coconut oil in 04 containers and Edirisinghe Edible Oil Company had imported 230 metric tonnes of contaminated coconut oil in 03 containers. Accordingly, the two companies have been instructed by the Sri Lanka Customs to take immediate action for the re-export of their stocks. The first importer to send back their stock of contaminated coconut oil was Katana Refineries. They have since re-exported their entire 105 metric tonne stock of contaminated coconut oil back to Malaysia.
