Two persons have been arrested in the Valachchenai area for illegally transporting liquor worth over Rs. 10 million in violation of travel restrictions.
The suspects were arrested while transporting liquor in a lorry at the Ridithenna roadblock in Valachchenai, police spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana said.
Ajith Rohana stated that 9,240 bottles of liquor were found in the lorry and its value was close to Rs. 7 million.
Further investigations are underway regarding the suspects.
