UK introduces Core Group Resolution on Sri Lanka at UNHRC

The Resolution of the United Nations (UN) Core Group of Countries on Sri Lanka was introduced by the UK at the 46th Session of the UN Human Rights Council (UNHRC) in Geneva a short while ago. The Core Group that brought the resolution comprises of the UK, Germany, Canada, North Macedonia, Montenegro, and Malawi. Julian Braithwaite stated that the resolution was tabled in order to bring reconciliation to Sri Lanka and prevent the recurrence of the past grave violations that occurred within the country. "We regret that an agreement was not reached with Sri Lanka," he said,
