UN Economic and Social Comm. thanks PM for opening remarks at 5th South Asia Forum on SDGs

Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations and Executive Secretary of Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) Armida Salsiah Alisjahbana has written to Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa, thanking him for his opening speech which was made at the Fifth South Asia Forum on the Sustainable Development Goals: Building back better from COVID-19 while accelerating the implementation of the SDGs in South and South-West, which was held on the 15 and 16 November 2021. In the letter, Alisjahbana thanked Prime Minister Rajapaksa for sharing his rich experiences and remarks on building back better to accelerate the progress on achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, which benefitted over 200 participants who attended the forum online and over 60 participants who attended in person. Further, Alisjahbana expressed his gratitude to the Government of Sri Lanka for hosting the event and making excellent arrangements for the hybrid meeting and complimented the officials of the Sustainable Development Council who ensured delivery of a very successful event.
