Undecided on 20A: Rishad

02 Oct 2020

Leader of the All Ceylon Makkal Congress (ACMC) Rishad Bathiudeen today (02) stated that the ACMC agrees with some aspects of the proposed 20th Amendment to the Constitution, while disagreeing with some aspects. “No one from the government has come forth to discuss the 20th Amendment with ACMC yet. We will release our decision on it once we have considered all aspects of it,” he further stated. When questioned about the release of his brother Riyaj Bathiudeen in connection with the Easter Sunday attacks, Rishad stated that neither his brother nor he was involved in its proceedings. “I believe that all parties responsible for the Easter Sunday attacks should face the necessary consequences. It is important to fully support the investigations, which both my brother and I believed. I have always maintained that neither my brother nor I were involved in this incident,” he commented.
