A large number of university students have started protesting along Parliament road.
Live streamed footage on social media shows a heavy police presence, and anti riot water cannon trucks in the vicinity.
Earlier today, Police barricaded the entry road to the Parliament at the Polduwa Junction near Diyatha Uyana.
As a result, the vehicular movement on the road has been blocked completely.
