The UNP Lak Vanitha National Convention has put forth a proposal that 25% of the nominations for the upcoming Provincial Council Elections will be reserved for female candidate.
The proposal was tabled by the Chairperson of the Lak Vanitha Shanthini Kogahage.
“The UNP remains committed to the increased representation of women in politics,” the convention stated today.
