In line with the Party turning 75 tomorrow (06), United National Party (UNP) Deputy Leader Ruwan Wijewardena invited all supporters to attend a virtual celebration taking place at 5PM today, in adherence to the ongoing island wide lockdown.
It was noted that the theme for this year's celebration is declared as 'Great History, Great Future'.
He went on to commend the deeds of the party thus far and mentioned particularly about the free education the UNP had initiated in the past, ensuring no discrimination amongst races, caste or religion and the freedom brought upon Sri Lanka by past Prime Minister and 'Father of the Nation' D.S Senanayake.
Wijewardene finally concluded that the UNP has been the only political party that has always promoted freedom, democracy and unity.
