The US Embassy tweeted urging American citizens to exercise caution during the pritest.

"Political rally planned in <a class="twitter-hashtag pretty-link js-nav" dir="ltr" href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/Colombo?src=hash" data-query-source="hashtag_click"><s>#</s><b>Colombo</b></a> today. American citizens encouraged to exercise caution and avoid large crowds," the US Embassy tweet said.
