The Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment (SLBFE) today (28) started administering Covid vaccines to Sri Lankan workers going abroad for employment.
The Ministry of Labor said that 1,200 workers will be vaccinated today at the Narahenpita Army Hospital.
It is said that the vaccination will be given today for the workers who are registered in the Western Province.
During a recent discussion between the Minister of Health and the Minister of Labor, it was agreed to provide the Pfizer Covid vaccine to Sri Lankans going abroad for employment.
Accordingly, about 8,000 Sri Lankan workers will be vaccinated against Covid under the program, the Ministry of Labor said.
