In a statement released today (25) by the President’s Media Division, President Gotabaya Rajapaksa has stated that vaccinations are the solution for the Covid-19 pandemic.
Commenting that the Government is ready for a strong vaccination drive, the President said that arrangements have been made to import four of the COVID-19 vaccines currently approved by the World Health Organization (WHO).
With regard to imposing lockdowns, he said that it will have detrimental consequences on the economy of the country and the lives of the people.
He also mentioned that the people of Sri Lanka have a civic responsibility to strictly adhere to the guidelines put forward by the health and security authorities.
