The entire Tharapuram village in Mannar has been sealed off by authorities.
The measure has been taken after a person who has tested positive for the coronavirus has reportedly attended a funeral in the village.
It has also been revealed that the person has visited several houses in the area.
Accordingly, over 900 families have been subject to self isolation.
