The Director General of Wildlife Department has instructed the warden of the Yala National Park to look into the reports of high speed vehicles driving through water holes inside the park.
A spokesperson for the Department said the DG has informed about the reports to the warden and that they were looking into determine the exact locations where the incidents had taken place.
Several photos being circulated on social media sites showed the drivers of some high speed vehicles driving through water holes which are home to many species.
Meanwhile, Wildlife Protection State Minister Wimalaweera Dissanayake also said that he would look into the issue.
