Senior Vice President of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) Professor Rohana Lakshan Piyadasa revealed that a decision is underway to reinstate the United People’s Freedom Alliance (UPFA).
These statements were made during a media briefing held in Kandy yesterday (31).
Such a decision will be taken by the SLFP and other political and nationalist aliases along with members and non-members of Parliament in the near future.
Professor Piyadasa went on to state, “Through this we hope to build the largest leftist and progressive nationalist front in the country. With this in mind, we hope to re-activate it,”
The UPFA was founded in 2004 by former President Chandrika Bandaranayake, and was later dissolved by former President Maithripala Sirisena in 2019.
