Trade Minister Bandula Gunawardena says that the government is ready to import rice if the market price of rice is not reduced.
Minister Gunawardena said that 100,000 metric tons of rice will be imported soon.
The Minister was commenting on the shortage of rice in the market these days and the increase in prices.
He also said that steps will be taken to sell one kilogram of rice for less than 100 rupees.
