Army Commander General Shavendra Silva says that if necessary, travel restrictions will be imposed during the upcoming festive season.
The Army Commander said that the increase in the spread of Covid-19 virus in Sri Lanka after the Christmas season has confirmed that people do not follow health advice properly during such periods.
"After the long Christmas holidays in December, the highest number of COVID infections were found in January and February," he said.
The Army Commander further stated that the guidelines issued for quarantine will be changed in the next few days.
