Sri Lanka ranked second in the latest World Survey on Pandemic Control conducted by the YICAI Research Institute in China, the Chinese Embassy in Colombo announced on Saturday (26).
The Chinese Embassy in a tweet stated: “Sri Lanka ranked second in latest World Survey on Pandemic Control conducted by the YICAI Research Institute, which is the highest ranking so far for the island nation in the Covid-19 fight.
“Sri Lanka absolutely deserves a global recognition on it without any bias,” it read.
Nine out of the top 10 countries are in the Asia-Pacific Region. The top 10 are: China, Sri Lanka, Ghana, Republic of Korea, Myanmar, Australia, Thailand, New Zealand, Vietnam, and Cambodia.
The YICAI Research Institute, which is part of China’s largest financial media conglomerate Yicai Media Group based in Shanghai, used the SEIR epidemiological model and its social network-based virus transmission model including 23 detailed indicators.
