Consortium Lanka Chairman and local agent of X-Press Pearl Arjuna Hettiarachchi has been released on bail after being produced in court.
The suspect was arrested by the CID this afternoon (16).
Arjuna Hettiarachchi was arrested this morning after surrendering to the CID through his lawyers and was produced before Colombo High Court Judge Damith Thotawatte.
The suspect was released on a cash bail of Rs. 100,000 and two sureties of Rs. 1 million each.
The judge ordered that the suspect's passport be handed over to the court and that his travel ban be imposed, and that the Controller of Immigration and Emigration, as well as airports and all ports, be notified of the order.
The judge also ordered the Controller of Immigration and Emigration to refrain from issuing a new passport to the suspect.
