Commander of the Navy Vice Admiral Piyal De Silva has signed President Maithripala Sirisena's order re-instating Yoshitha Rajapaksa as a lieutenant in the Sri Lanka Navy.
The Sri Lanka Navy suspended Rajapaksa with effect from 28 February 2016.
Rajapaksa was suspended from naval service upon the direction of the Defence Ministry. The ministry said this decision was taken in regard to a request made by the Financial Crimes Investigation Division (FCID) to allow it to hold an independent investigation over the money laundering case against Carlton Sports Network(CSN).
