Voicing his concerns over the Yugadanavi Power Plant deal involving an American company, State Minister of Batik, Handloom and Local Apparel Products Dayasiri Jayasekara stated that a dangerous situation will unfold in the country.
These statements were made at a press conference held today (24).
"One person or company having control over an LNG power plant that generates 1680MW or more than 60% of electricity is a dangerous situation. We (The Constituent Parties of the Government) are of this stance. We plan to speak with the President and other leaders in the near future," said Jayasekara.
Additionally, Jayasekara confirmed yet again that the Government did not come into power to sell off national assets, and if wrong decisions have been made, it will be corrected accordingly.
