A 22-year-old suspect was arrested in Balummahara of the Ganemulla police area with 1,200 kilograms of illegally imported turmeric, stated Police Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana today.
The suspect and the production has been handed over to the Balummahara police by the Special Task Force and he is to be produced before the magistrate court.
The police Spokesman stated that further investigations are underway to find out where the turmeric was imported from.
