The Judicial Service Commission has taken steps to transfer 72 magistrates and judges. The Commission said that these transfers would be effective from April 5 under the Annual Transfers Act. Accordingly, the former Acting Chief Magistrate of Colombo, R. M. S. B. Chandrasiri has been appointed as the Chief Magistrate of Colombo and former Acting District Judge of Colombo A.G. Aluthge has been appointed as the Colombo District Judge.
