A $15 m Indian grant to enhance Buddhist ties

During an online discussion discussion between Sri Lankan and Indian Prime Ministers Mahinda Rajapaksa and Narendra Modi today (26) at the first ever India – Sri Lanka Virtual Bilateral Summit a US $ 15 million grant to enhance Buddhist ties, extend cooperation on community development programmes for coming years and fisheries issues was discussed.

Rajapaksa has invited Modi to visit Sri Lanka to declare open the cultural centre being put up in jaffna once it is completed.

This was India’s first virtual summit with a neighbouring country.
