Shan Wijeylal has been appointed as the new Governor for the Eastern Province and will be taking over from former Governor, M.L.A.M. Hizbullah. The President's Media Division (PMD) stated that following the resignation of all Muslim Ministers from their posts, the former Southern Province Chief Minister was sworn in before President Maithripala Sirisena moments ago (05). Shan Wijeylal was sworn in at the Presidential Secretariat the PMD stated.
